Tony, Terry, and Bill have five ways of qualifying...:right:

1. Be in a car that's in the Top 35 in Owner Points.
2. Qualify on Speed (that sounds kinky...)
3. Qualify via a transfer spot from the Gatorade Duels
4. Past Champions Provisional
5. Sunday's Time Trails Qualifying is rained out. I guess that would include the Gatorade Duels being rained out, too...:right:

All three past champions, not in the top 35, will be in the Daytona 500...:)

The three who qualified on time today were:

Bill Elliott
Travis Kvapil
Tony Stewart

Terry Labonte will be able to use his championship provisional...:)

The line up for the Gatorade Duel 150's

Duel #1

Duel #2

I cannot for the life of me figure out how they come up with the line up order for the duels. It used to be all the even numbered qualifiers were in one the the odd number qualifiers were in the other. Now, other than who starts on the pole for each duel, I have no idea how they come up with the order...

Yes, it definitely explains it well. /rant on/ It also shows yet another reason why the top 35 rule is total crap! Do you all remember the time when everyone had to race their way into the 500 through the Twins? That was drama. With the exception of a handful of positions, this race means nothing anymore. I know, it determines the pit selection. Pit selections @ Daytona & Taladega mean little compared to other venues. Do you remember when the Twin lineups were actually determined simply by the qualifying positions? All of the odd number positions started the first race & all of the evens, the second. Not anymore. Now it's all off of last years owner points & then their qualifying positions. /rant off/ :(
