It was indeed the infamous incident in 1965 where actor/singer Ed Ames - who played "Mingo" on the TV series Daniel Boone - showed off his tomahawk throwing skills on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Of course, what happened made it one of the most-remembered moments in TV history:
