Does the SL2 use a standard battery or is it custom? I need a new one.
The remote uses a standard CR2032 battery. As for the SL2 unit itself, it uses a custom made battery which isn't available yet (and, who knows, might never be?...).
I was looking for my remote battery. I should have been clearer. Thanx.
SIRIUS is getting us a small batch of SL2 batteries specifically for people who busted their batteries or lost them. But those are just to swap out. But in a couple months we will be selling Replacement SL2 batteries.
As for remote batteries the majority of SIRIUS Radios use either a CR2025 or CR2032 battery. Allanon is right about the SL2 using the CR2032.
That's great news. Thanks for the info, Tom.
Sl2's didnt come with 2 batteries like the sl100-having that spare really came in handy
By any chance does TSS stock these or am I better off going to a battery place?
The CR2032 is used in many small electronic items. Any drug store or bicycle shop should stock them.
I would say for now, yes. Go to Radio Shack. It might be about $4.
Maybe I am missing the joke but why would a bicycle shop sell them?
They might be used in trip computers.
Or the little LED lights that you put on your bike. It wouldn't be worth it for us to ship them anyway. They are so cheap. I think we buy them for about 30 cents a piece or so.
bicycle speedo/computer use the same type watch battery
