I think it was $1000 after the sybian ride... not sure it was better than a Jeff The Drunk appearance, though :)

Thats a cool thing they've done. TSS Radio is helping make the show better by adding to the buget for things like today. I was thinking about getting my sister a SL2. Now I know were I will get it.

Now, what did this cost for TSS to do the ad total? $500? Or is the $500 on top of some standard advertising fee?

Always wondered what the dilly was on this. For $500 I might advertise something on there! Picture of my balls or something.

$500 COURTESY OF JOE'S BALLS GOING TO THE WINNER OF THE WHEEL OF BENJI!

These plugs are the most valuable ads we've had on the Stern show. Basically we contribute let's say $1,000. Then SIRIUS advertising will take a good portion of that and then the rest can be given away. It's a much more effective manner and far less expensive than the Live Read ads.

Oh and I have no choice on when to give it out, it's there for whomever they want and I would never disagree with the choices. After all I'm thinking of adopting Jeff The Drunk LOL

But you have to be relieved it's for something like Stump The Booey, rather than say It's Just Wrong - Twin Brother Addition or Porn Star Naked Olympics Starring Ron Jeremy?

It's smart advertising. I can't imagine that having your ad buried in the middle of a 10 minute stop set is all that effective. I know I don't stay tuned when they go to commercial...I could care less about H100 News or any of the other stuff.

No, because I laugh more at those. :jj:
I'm not against giving money away to a chick who makes out with her mom, because it's something they chose and it is FUNNY. :hw:

I'm right there with you. I fast forward through all the commercials. I never listen to them. I'm not saying they have to many. I just chose not to listen to them.

What he does now is nothing compared to when he was on terrestrial radio. He'd have 20 or 25 minutes worth of spots at a clip back in the day.

I remember those days too. I've been listening since 92. Those were terrible. You know I could care less about Howard 100 news too. I think they are a wast of the buget to be honest. They could use that cash for a lot of other things.

Do you guys (TSS) see a huge flux in traffic still when these ads are read? I'd be interested to know if you continue to get new customers, since it seems after maybe a few weeks of live reads and other ads on Sirius, you kind of get all the traffic you can get from the subs. Then again, I bet there are some that still wander over. Obviously, the ads are worth the money, as you appreciate them very much, and continue buying adtime.

The impact used to be bigger, but there is also some amount of branding that goes into them. So there was a time when a mention from Bubba or Gary or Howard brought in enough hits to crash our site. It's a bit different now since we've penetrated (hehe) more of their audience. But this plugs seem to attract some that have never heard us.

In all cases, I'm sure it takes quite a few radio sales to pay the $500.00.

Hopefully those web hits turn into sales!

We don't want TSS to go the same route as CC.
