Canada Eh!
Is she on coke or what? Irish John even called in and called her on it but she denied it. Sounds coked up or on something to me.

I only caught the first few minutes, but the AVN guy plus wacked out porn star usually means FF past the segment for me.

The porn-whore appearances need to stop. Two in two days? Its become a crutch. This isn't 1993; porn-whores just aren't the taboo they once were (all credit to Howard for making them mainstream). It really does lend credence to all the "phoning it in" criticiscisms.

And what a waste of a Beetle segment; even the pinhead didn't want to participate. Oh well - I guess Howard needed something to put on HTV.

It lends credence, but is it fair? There have always been throwaway segments. Not every show from every era (besides Sirius) is a Best Of. Check out Marksfriggin and see if every early-December show from 1994-2005 was 100% prime. Sure some complaints about today's shows are warranted, but are we so blinded by 20+ years of repeated airings of Best Of's that we actually think every minute of every show from "The Good Old Days" was 100% radio gold?

Are you seriously hitting this guy on Post #1? He hasn't made a comment about "the good ol' days" yet.

It's like the zone coverage, just float in an area and wait for the guy to come to you before smacking him. There is the outside chance he's not a troll.

Two in two days? It *feels* (I didn't research it) like there's been at least one porn-whore a week for some time. I don't think anyone - even his most ardent supporters (SFN's front page now fills with bitch threads whenever there's a porn-whore segment) - enjoy the segments anymore.

I actual felt bad for Beetle today. It sounds absurd, but in the past, the jokes they made at Beetle's expense were done with love. Sure, they were making fun of him, but they did care about him. Today, he was just the freak. Segment not entertaining? Bring in the freak. It seemed that Beetle was even getting that vibe. Rather than utter his usual nonsensical hilarity, he didn't seem to want to participate. His response to most questions was "So? Good for him". It was as if even he were wondering, "what the hell is the point of this? Why am I here?"

With all that's gone on in the last two days, the show doesn't need to go back to this well. Talk about Artie - that's what they pay him for, so they might as well use him.

Its ok - I've been lurking for a while. I've got an idea of the personalities here. We'll see how it goes; if he gets to obnoxious, I'll just ignore him. It seems like its a board right-of-passage to get attacked by Jgatie; I just wouldn't feel like a member without it.

Seriously man, I'm not "hitting" him. My post was for discussion only. Is it not a proper question to ask when people mention him "phoning it in" that they look at the past for other examples of an off day?

PS - Thanks for the poster for not thinking I was "hitting" him and actually taking my post as a request for healthy discussion. I guess being a newbie, he cut me some slack. Which is good, because I was not fishing for a fight, I was really looking for a good conversation.

Dude, I wasn't attacking you. Honest. I just wanted to know what you thought.

As far as what you said, yeah it may be a go-to-the-well too often moment, but I personally don't like the AVN shit anyway. As far as the Beetle stuff is concerned, I haven't heard it yet, but Beetle has been hit-or-miss for a while now and when they try to coax it out of him, it can seem demeaning or it can seem to be babying him - neither one of which is good radio.

Not really. Maybe he thinks Howard always phoned it in, in which case there would be no "good ol' days" in his mind. In any event, I'm glad we're all making the effort to fight the VORTEX. :twitch: :D

Coke is the reason they do what they do. Sober people would never agree to do half the things the coked-up porn girls do.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt on the "phoning it in" bit. Even the most die-hard 0.0 fan never says he always "phoned it in". Even they realize you can't argue those rating numbers for that long a time.

And yes, I am trying to avoid the VORTEX. The mods have spoken and I agree with them 100%.

If Beetlejuice can claim to be 6'6", 300 lbs., rich, 34 years old, 8'3", 125 lbs., and 85 years old in ten seconds time, I wouldn't have a hard time believing 0.0ers would say that about Howard.
