Um, I really enjoyed this but it was a bit chaotic wasn't it? They really jumped around, Arite kept derailing the interview and Jimmy Kimmel kind of threw it off too.

I liked it but I can imagine Ben Stiller leaving and just shaking his head and wondering why he even bothered to come in. If there was any chance of them rekindling their friendship, I would pretty much say this interview killed it.

Anybody else agree?

Artie needed to STFU for 30 seconds. He had to go tit for tat with Jimmy. It was almost like they had their own show going on competing with Stern and Stiller. Very chaotic.

lets be real. artie was kinda a d*ck to ben stiller.
how can you have a view of this interview that is so contray to the fact that it was awsome. The way it works around here is You make a thread praising evrything Stern and it will get to 2 pages with posts like "it was great" or "radio gold". Then the tread dies. Thats how we roll.;)

I just listened to this interview again and WOW, the last 10 mintues is Artie doing his best to get Ben Stiller to just walk out. He was really insulting today.

I mean, that was some of the most awkwardly hilarious shit I have ever heard.

They start asking Ben about a third Fochers movie and Artie just flat out says that DeNiro is ruining his legacy by making movies like this and that the first one was "alright."

Also, he did his best to insult Tom Cruise, Owen Wilson and Ben's wife for sleeping with Neil Patrick Harris.

I think it is possible that a clean and sober Artie is somehow harder to control than a heroin addicted Artie.

Artie is the only one that believes that he is clean i think.

i agree. this is one of the very few times i completely disliked artie. I guess sober artie is annoying. i hope this isn't a trend.

Today on the WUS Artie said he listened back to the Stiller interview and agreed with the fans that he was interupting too much and is currently working on it..

I think Artie was totally in the right to question "Tom Cruise is the nicest guy" since he had his own story. If anything, Ben and Jimmy's doubting him 100% was kind of douchey. It was too much of a free for all but Ben Stiller came in half asleep and he looked strange on Letterman. HE might be on something! It was a good interview but frankly WAAAY too much Jimmy on the show. I don't know what was worse....Jimmy or the OTHER two guys that paid to be on the show during the news. I would give to charity to STOP doing that.

I thought it was an amazing segment. It did get chaotic at times and I sometimes got Ben and Jimmy's voices confused but what a ride. Jimmy and Artie were like two class clowns making jokes to each other and anyone listening. As much as he created some tension with Ben, I think he diffused a lot some of the time. If Artie got overbearing, it was more in the Kimmel segment after, IMO.

I loved the gay jew porn lines talking about JJ Abrams and Ben blowing Howard. What a visual... Gurkle gurkle...

Ben Stiller was great, but OMFG, Artie has to go. First of all, he's clearly not clean. Second, he starts every sentence (most of which are interruptions) with "I" - no one cares about Artie's perspective every 2 seconds. Stiller even tried to get a dig in with "Is Artie coked up now?" He'll never come back as a guest. Robin and Howard seemed to be trying hard to screen out Artie, too.

Howard lingered on the Owen Wilson thing a little too long, but I just think Howard is that socially awkward in not realizing just to drop the topic altogether after bringing it up. Even Howard had to ask Ben something about not being "up" for the interview toward the end - gee, I wonder why? :)

I felt like Jimmy was more or less in the background once Ben was in, certainly didn't seem to irritate anyone.

It's sad the Stern legacy is going to be squarely focussed on Artie when all is said and done.
