He's been talking like he knew he wouldn't be coming back for a little while now.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand he's needs to be given another season to see how he does with younger players. It's not like current or past GMs have given him the right players.

On the other hand, he did seem like he had taken on a job too big for him to handle

He had a bunch of good players, and the Tigers had some decent seasons before he came on board. I don't know if there was a dosconnect with what the owners wanted him to do, or if it just wasnt a good fit, but I don't think it was the right team for him to skipper.

It's got to be weird being a coach knowing you may always be looking for work in a year.

The White Sox take 2 out of 3 from the Royals. The Royals head to New York for their last road game of the season with a make up game with the Yankees Monday afternoon.

Jays eliminated yesterday. Yankees clinch wildcard spot. Twins look to be locking up 2nd one. Everybody who is chasing them is losing and they are winning (sweeping the Tigers).

The Yankees beat the Royals 11-3. The Royals head back to KC for their last homestand of the season starting with a 3 game series vs. Detroit Tigers Tuesday-Thursday.

The Angels flamed out. Once solidly in the WC race, two series with the As(s)tros and one with the Indians have left them below .500. Nothing short of a miracle will get them even with the Twins.

That said, I hope the WC game between the Yankees and Twins will be a good one. I will be rooting for the Twins, but I'm fine with a Yankee win. Neither teams has a shot at beating the Indians. That ALDS series will only go three games

Astros third team to win 100 games in 2017

The most recent instance came in 2003, when the Yankees, Braves and Giants accomplished the feat. It also happened in 2002 (Yankees, Athletics and Braves), 1998 (Yankees, Braves, Astros), 1977 (Yankees, Royals, Phillies) and 1942 (Yankees, Cardinals, Dodgers).

2003 Yankees made it to the WS.

In 2002 none of the 100 win teams made it to the WS.

In 1998 only the Yankees made it to the WS.

In 1977 only the Yankees made it to the WS.

There's a good chance only one of the three 100 win teams will make it to the WS. Hopefully it's the Indians.
