Worth the watch to see the defensive header after 1:10 :

Scott Sinclair scored on his debut just 20 minutes after coming off the bench as Celtic beat Hearts 2-1 in a frenetic season-opener at Tynecastle in the SPFL Ladbrokes Premiership. James Forrest fired Celtic ahead but Jamie Walker equalised from the spot after going down under a challenge from Kieran Tierney, before super-sub Sinclair converted after a brilliant breakaway to secure all three points on Brendan Rodgers’ league début.

Aston Villa’s manager Roberto Di Matteo has called for his side to go back to basics after crashing out of the EFL Cup with a 3-1 defeat to League Two Luton Town.

The Villa manager, who has now lost his first two competitive games since taking charge of the club, saw the hangover from relegation out of the Premier League continue as they were deservedly knocked out by the Hatters.

Rotherham on just survived in the Championship last year, not much of a test for Villa - City are still suspect ( and I am a long time supporter) - Sunderland are 9/4 with PaddyPower to go down - Rotherham 5/4 between Burton Albion 4/7 and Blackburn 2/1 - as they say the Championship is a swamp ... but then again what do I know :) - oh any one willing to take Cheltenham at 1000/1 to win the League (EFL) Cup ?

Dorus de Vries: Celtic sign Dutch keeper from Nottingham Forest

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Dutch goalkeeper Dorus de Vries from Nottingham Forest on a two-year deal.

The 35-year-old spent the 2006-07 season in Scotland with Dunfermline before joining Swansea, where he worked under Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

After four years in South Wales, he moved on to Wolves and has been at Forest for the past three seasons.

... and I suppose I should be grateful for the 15 mins of Champions League I was able to listen to on 85 before noon hit and was replaced by a replay. Does anyone at SiriusXM actually listen to the feeds ? :)

oh and the FA Cup is back and rocking on Saturday.
