Stiletto 2 Recording

So I had my Stiletto 2 set to record overnight and it was on the home dock with a signal... I just turned it on and there were no new recordings. When I turned it on though it went through the start-up process as if it had been completely shut down. So my question is, will the Stiletto 2 record if it is totally shut down?

No. It can record when turned off (I've had luck with this), but not when shut down.

I often use the trick of leaving it on, on channel "0", so that it can serve me as an alarm clock by automatically changing to another channel for recording.

Really? I've never had any luck with that - I've found that if a scheduled recording starts while the unit is asleep, the recording will be deleted and nothing will be saved.

Yeah mine records fine when it's asleep, when it's plugged into the home dock.
