[Channel98]

Why should we have so many different threads about SiriusXM Channel 4? That's a good question. I'm glad I asked it. Channel 4 will simulcast another SiriusXM channel for two to four weeks, then simulcast a different channel for two to four weeks, then simulcast a.......well, anyway, here is a new thread devoted to Channel 4. Whatever the channel's schedule, or whenever it becomes a single-artist payola channel for a month, we can discuss it here.

SiriusXM describes the format of Road Trip Radio, online channel 301, as "music that makes you wanna move." Yeah, hearing a song by Rick Astley or Janet Jackson really makes me want to get out and burn some of that $3.60-a-gallon gasoline driving on the congested, pothole-filled streets of Los Angeles. Anyway, Road Trip Radio is being simulcast on Channel 4 from August 1 through today, August 15. Tomorrow, Channel 4 will begin a countdown of The Top 500 Summer Songs Of All Time. "How I Spent My Summer Vacation." I tcompiled a list of the biggest songs with "Summer" in the title. I ranked them in order, based on their performance on the Billboard Hot 100. I found out that making such a list is not easy. After I posted it, I discovered I had omitted some songs. I added them and reposted the list. In the middle of the night, I realized I had omitted Drake's 2016 hit Summer Sixteen and Robin Ward's 1963 hit Wonderful Summer. I have expanded the list to 80 songs and I am now posting it for the third time. If I ever again compile a list like this, I will make it easy on myself by using a word that I know is only one or two song titles, such as Bodak, OMG, Decorated, Rubberband, Justify, Marmalade, Panda, Sicko, Jagger or Firework.

In June, SiriusXM and New York City-based fitness company SoulCycle, which charges people money to ride bicycles that don't go anywhere, announced a new SoulCycle Radio channel. It now appears that on September 20, SoulCycle Radio will replace Spotlight on Channel 4.
