Sound Drop-Outs Anyone?

The last couple days I have been experiencing short drops-out of music on my Sportster 5. Less than half a second. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this recently?

The receiver is less than six months old. Signal Strength meter does not show any dip. Connected to front input jack of a Sony head unit. Does not seem related to hitting bumps while driving.

I've had a couple of blips like that over the last week or so.
Not very many (maybe 4 or 5 max) and I seem to have full bars worth of reception.
I thought it might just be a fluke.

Yep. On backspin, hip hop nation and stars too were doing this a couple days ago. The sound would drop for a second but the antenna didn't show the signal dropping.

I was only certain channels me thinks.

Did that coincide with the nasty storms that the east coast had the other day?
Maybe the upload / buffering to the satellites was being affected.
How / where does that happen anyway?

The problem must have been at the source since it was happening on the channels affected by the merger which originate at XM HQ in DC. The problems have been fixed as those channels sound normal today.

Anyone having issues with sound 'skipping' ?

It seemed OK when I drove in this morning. I listened for about 30 minutes to Classic Rewind and Deep Tracks. Both of those channels had the problem over the last couple of weeks.

Haven't noticed anything with XM in my car or the Sirius internet feed.

Hair Nation was bad yesterday so was Classic Rewind. It has since been fixed.

I thought the problem might be with my equipment so I am happy to hear it was a more general problem.

Yip, I've been having the same problem.

It's not really noticeable at first, but then after a while it's enough to pull your freaking hair out.

Hopefully this gets resolved quickly, if it isn't already.

Seems to be fixed. Wonder what that was all about.

Yeah, I was starting to think it was my setup. All seems well.

I think the audio quality is much better this week so maybe they were upgrading the processing on the channels.
