Sirius and XM are in many ways still separate entities!

The reason for this is strictly ALL ABOUT MONEY! Technically, since Sirius and XM as separate companies supposedly no longer exist, we should be able to get the same content on all radios. But you will probably never see MLB on Sirius radios. Why? Not because Sirius XM can't do it, but because the want you to have to spend more of your money and buy a Mirge to get all the programming. And the fact that XM radios can't air NCAA tourney games because "they have an exclusive deal with Sirius is ridiculous! XM IS SIRIUS NOW, AND SIRIUS IS XM- THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME. SIRIUS BY ITSELF NO LONGER EXISTS. How can you have an exclusive deal with a company that no longer exists?

I am prepared for the chorus of boos, but there are probably contractual issues as well.

But yes, if money was not an issue, I am sure the crafty lawyers could find a way to work things out for us poor listeners.

Sounds like the guy is pissed off about the baseball situation.

Right now, there's a channel on BOXM that is dedicated towards baseball talk. I'm sure that as the baseball season gets closer, we'll hear more about baseball on BOXM.

If they REALLY were in a money-grab, they wouldn't make a Best Of package. These Best Of packages allow you to add the key programs from the other service for a fraction of the full payment. (As a bonus, you also don't have to add a second car kit.)

And, yes, they are "all about the money", just like any other business.

The MiRGE is coming because of two factors:
1) The various government groups mandated that a "unified" radio be released.
2) There may be a lot of potential subscribers who are hesitant about what to buy since not everything is entirely 100% the same. This should make everything 100% the same. Hopefully, the MiRGE leads to new subscribers.

Heck, Apple sells its iPod and music separately. What a money grab. They could easily pre-load all the ipods with all their songs...
