I’m familiar with Kate, but not the other 2. If the first band didn’t sound soooo much like Matchbox, they probably would have gotten more attention.

What happened to Foundations? It's what put her on the map.

I like it, but not as much as the others. In fact, her three big hits from that album are 'pretty good' but not great (in my 'fell off the edge of the world' opinion).

Made Of Bricks (& b-sides)

1. Merry Happy
2. Dickhead
3. Shit Song
4. Birds
5. Nicest Thing
6. Stitching Leggings (b-side version, not the later recording)
7. Little Red
8. Mouthwash (UK HIT)
9. Foundations (UK HIT)
10. Habanera
11. Skeleton Song (but I dislike the end, so I always move on about 2/3rds the way through it)

OTHER GOOD SONGS:
Don't You Want To Share The Guilt (b-side version, not the later recording)
Navy Taxi
Old Dances
Pumpkin Soup (UK HIT)
Take 'Em Out

NOT REALLY INTO:
Mariella
Model Behaviour
We Get On

CAN'T FIND:
A Is For Asthma

TOO SHORT TO BOTHER COUNTING:
Play
Pistachio Nut
The Lion, The Devil & The Spider

Kendrick Lamar

Genre: rap

Discovered: don't remember, but the song was "ADHD"

Other: The first album he put out (that got him signed to a major label) was good. I liked a lot of his stuff from 2011-2015. But his biggest hits (2016 up to now) do nothing for me.

HIGH FIVE:

1. ADHD
2. No Make Up
3. King Kunta
4. The Blacker The Berry
5. Swimming Pools

Klank

Genre: electronic rock/metal

Discovered: he played guitar for Circle Of Dust, his first album was produced by Klayton (of Circle Of Dust & Celldweller)

Other: Main dude of this band signed his record contract in blood. I saw the band live in a tiny all-ages club in Concord NH. The club had an Atari 2600 set up, I thought that was quite cool. The owner of that club later opened a different club and called my band the best they'd ever booked. A couple years later he fired off an angry email at me after I wouldn't do pay-for-play, complaining about his expenses, despite the fact he'd praised us in the past for bringing a crowd.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Downside
2. Scarified
3. Leave
4. Time
5. Woodensoul

KLF

Genre: alt dance

Discovered: friend who liked "3AM Eternal"

Other: These wack-a-doodles burned £1m in 1994. And they just started allowing streaming on select songs this year. So don't ever feel bad about stealing their music.

HIGH FIVE:

1. Justified And Ancient (Stand By The Jams - with Tammy Wynette)
2. What Time Is Love
3. 3AM Eternal
4. Last Train To Trancentral
5. Make It Rain
