S-50 never dies....but

The son of a bitch started freezing at the dog logo so I did the reset channels which didn't work (doesn't seem to get a signal as the antenna aiming reads zero across the board) so I did a full format (3 finger dealie) and then followed the instructions to do the refresh (someone made a PDF walk through) and now it sticks at FIRMWARE UPDATING in the dock.

The dock is fine as I have 2 S50s and only this one is giving a problem in any dock.

Is there anything else I can try to get past this issue? It never goes into the % update.

Maybe try defragging the drive in Windows. Last resort might be to try formatting the drive in Windows and then reinstalling the firmware

Tried it. Dammit. Is there an earlier firmware I can try lost on this forum somewhere?

Damn. I was always a bit jealous of you guys that still have working S50's. I liked mine.

My s50 is on its way out. It works fine, but will no longer charge a battery. I have tried to get it to charge in the car dock, home dock, executive boombox as well as the AC Adapter with no luck.

My car kit is dying too, as I get dropouts every 1-2 minutes. It is annoying, but at least I can still listen to my MP3's....

Both S50's I have on account will not die. I use one in my office and a customer has the other playing daily.
