Real Housewives of New York gets a pass

Everytime RHoNY comes up in conversation via a guest (Example: Iliza Schlesinger) on the show it is glossed over by Howard ASAP. Perhaps Beth's appearances at fashion shows sitting next to them serves as Kryptonite and disables Howard from attacking what has to be the biggest pseudo- reality trainwreck to hit TV. Could marriage and money be honing his edginess. I still like the show and listen daily but I sometimes think that when he said I Do at the wedding he was promising to do more than honor and cherish and this is hurting the show.

Canada Eh!
Wow..... Good job sir!
7/10 pretty good conspiracy you put together there! It’s far reaching over thought and obsessive! You’ll go far around this place if you keep it up. Remember, don’t go for the easy things like Howard phoning it in or how Sirius stock is tanking or that Howard is Hampton Howie these days.

You took a boring old complaint (Beth) and managed to stretch it out into a conspiracy about fashion shows, runways and T.V shows no one cares about!

Congratulations,

I'm a guy, and I think I speak for most guys when I say any show called Real Housewives of New York is so off my radar, I'd watch infomercials on Oxy-Clean before ever turning it on. Matter of fact, without this thread I would have lived my entire life never knowing this show exists. Howard's certainly never shied away from plugging Beth's crap before, so IMHO the reason he isn't plugging this is because it's a minor piece of crap program and of no interest to his audience, even in a mocking kind of way.

By the way, "honing his edginess" would make him sharper, more edgy. "Dulling" or "blunting his edginess" is the metaphor you want.

I'm less generous than Snoozer - 5.0/10

absolutely. I has been brought up many times around here. Yes beth has changed him. yes the show was affected. Is the show still funny as all sh*t and worth listening too? Yes. Get a stiletto and FFW through those parts, HTV parts, sybian rides, commercials etc.

Say what you will, but Howard never got a 0.0 in any radio market he was in during his entire career, let alone TWICE! :D

I'm with you. I've heard the Housewives show being mocked on other programs, but that's all that I really know about it. From the clips I've seen, it doesn't look like something that anyone on the Stern show would watch.

I've heard of the show but have never watched it and I don't mind the bad reality show via cable (anytime I see that obese chick "Ruby", I enjoy it because I'm not caught that fat and she is actually kind of charming). This show is just not on Howard's radar. The man hasn't even seen an episode of "The Simpsons" or most other great sitcoms yet watches "How I Meet Your Mother" like that crap is funny! I know he is more into reality shows, but doesn't watch them all, obviously. That being said, without a doubt, the kissing and protecting of Beth is out of control. Notice Howard's odd non-reaction to "Hank"'s call. If you didn't hear it, he basically called Howard under the ruse of plugging Howard TV and than goes said "Hey, Imus. When is Deardre's book coming out." Get it? You're a novice. You'll get better. Welcome to the club.

uhhhhhhhh, huh???

or is it just me?

No it's not just you. I can't really tell if he's praising Hank or calling him an amateur, but who really cares, it's a standard Vinny post. They are entertaining in a stream of consciousness kind of way and Vinny's a good guy. But you might as well bookmark the following, and use it as a default reply.

I think How I Met Your Mother is pretty funny.

Not the show, but the story of how I started bangin' your mom... OHH!!!

J/k, but I do like that show.

I don't watch TV and when I do it's usually done in a way where I stay on one channel for an hour or two. I got hooked into this Housewives of NYC show bigtime. It might not be cool for a guy to say that but if you want cat fights and cuntiness this show is hilarious. These women are all out of their minds and it cracks me up. I just found it about 2 weeks ago and I'm hooked.

Unfortunately for the producers of that show, I would need some kind of pornographic element in the show to capture my attention, considering the subject matter. No ratings points from me.

I'm telling you the show is hilarious. I must have spent an hour on the phone today like a yenta with Mariann from Brooklyn talking about it. She was giving me the low down on page six news. The women on that show are the biggest c**ts and it's friggin awesome to watch the cat fights.

And Mariann definitely thinks Howard is witholding his opinion on this woman from the show named Kelly since Beth and Howard know her.
