Howard has ALWAYS had the porno sluts on...that is what he was known for back in the 80s and 90s.

I've only been listening on a regular basis since 1999, and back then, I looked forward to the butt bongo, cream cheese, dead fish, etc.

So, I ask you: Were the fans always complaining about the sluts? Is the complaining a new thing because of him asking the same questions? Is it something else? Is it the lack of fire he brings now? We're not seeing any dead fish or cream cheese these days.

I'd rather not see a bunch of replies "it's boring." Is it the advent of the discussion boards, where the complainers have an outlet? (Obviously, complaining about this stuff was a lot harder before the various websites came along.)

I'm going to go with this. Plus porn sluts on the radio is no longer shocking or groundbreaking. I hate them equally on any show, they suck for the most part, and Howard and Bubba thinking people are dying to hear them shows them to be a bit out of touch with the audience.

Sure there's a segment of lowest common denominator listeners in the audience that want to hear it, but I would wager most people are bored by it.

My best guess at this would be that the porn sluts in studio is a benefit to those who are actually in the studio rather than listening outside of the studio.

there is no need for porno sluts on the radio when everyone has internet access everywhere in the world via there phones. there is absolutely no point in it. and I'm willing to bet that almost no one subscribes for HTV just to see such sluts either. I remember the few times I had HTV, I never watched those segments, cuz they don't interest me whatsoever.

It WAS shocking and groundbreaking at one time. I guess it goes back to the "lesbians equal ratings" bit.

Or something like HowardTV, BubbaRaw, or whatever other subscription services are out there.

Now, if Howard actually did something with the "Howard Stern Media Player" or even had a members-only thing online. (Maybe the HTV subscription could come with a username and password for an in-studio web cam that could update every 2-3 minutes.)

Back in the day of the E! show, Howard's show was the top-rated thing on E! Yes, it gave an unfair picture of the radio show, but people did tune in for the fully-pixellated girls.

It brings me to a new point: If people don't have HTV for the girls, then why do they have it? The stuff you can't get on the radio like "show in the hallway?"

I did enjoy the free preview on MOJOHD, but that also seemed to be very similar to the E! show (girls, celebrities promoting things, etc.)

I like the old E! shows and things I never heard/saw. And if there's staff drama I like the visual aspect of that.

And I thought Show in the Hallway was great, but reception is mixed.

It's like everyone has said in this thread. Porn stars have run their course. They're main stream and their popularity has been played out.

The angle now is to make fun of them. Howard's pushing a little that way but he hasn't commited. People want exposure so they'll put up with almost anything, but porn actors are problematic cause they have "self respect."

Frankly I'm bored with them unless they want to be outrageous. Give me a gorgeous, charming sex star and I'm entertained. Put on the skanky white trash I call family and I'm bored.

See, I think that's the difference today. The internet has made porn pretty pervasive. So much so that anyone with a camera and a website can label themselves a "Porn Star", with the vast majority of them being utterly horrible trashy women with bad boob jobs and shitty tattoos. It's everywhere, and becoming a bit common so we all get blasé about it.

In the 80's and 90's, you had to go out of your way to get porn, so it was something special :D

I was never interested in skanks coming in to promote their movies or their web sites. I always felt their appearances were geared for the E! show rather than for the radio show. I didn't mind the skank sessions if it meant that they were to be included in spelling contests, because it would often lead to funny moments.

I always found the "turn around, let me see your ass" interviews to be borefests. Not my thing. I guess there will always be people turned on by this stuff, but unless you're in the studio or working for Howard TV, it's pretty mind numbing stuff.

I would cut Howard a ton of slack early on when he did these segments, he did actually sound excited about seeing a woman with her clothes off in his studio. But certainly after the release of his first book this activity had run its course for me. I didn't mind it so much back then because I found his show to be vastly entertaining otherwise.

My problem is that 8 out of 10 of them are just freaking annoying. Probably because I am annoyed with most all chicks their age. They are fun to look at, but horrible to listen to. That's kind of a problem for radio. Their handlers all kiss their asses constantly to placate them, so they take themselves way too seriously. Those ding bats have to say "like" every other word, which makes me mental. To me the HTV chicks are worse that the porn whores most of the time. Maybe the solution would be to not let every skank with a website on the show. Raise the bar a little, and make it a special occasion, like a contest, when they are on. I'd rather listen to Andrea every day that one of those retarded howard tv hoes.
