Hey Now

The truth is sometimes difficult to take, ignoring it doesn't make it better or go away.

Denial fixes nothing.

My prayers go out to artie and his family.

Holy shit. He is more messed up than I had imagined. How can you stab yourself 9 times? He just needs to be put out of his misery.

However, it would have been better, IMO, if Howard wouldn't have said anything.

The one good thing that may come out of this is that Artie may finally get the professional help that he needs to turn his life around.

So I imagine it will take some time to recover from these injuries. So we probably won't see Artie for a long while...

That's pretty sad. Hope he gets himself straightened out.
The Howard Stern Show is probably not the best place to be for a guy like that considering the shape he's in.

Very sad story all around. I hope Artie gets serious therapy and all that. Didn't he promise not to attempt suicide again after that first incident?

I don't think that suicide is one of those things you can promise not to do. If you have the thoughts/tendencies, those feelings probably never leave you. It's probably like an alcoholic or ex-smoker. You still want the drink/smoke, but you learn how to cope with those feelings.

Agreed.
Stabbing yourself is a pretty gruesome way to try and off yourself.
Hope he gets the help he needs.

This isn't attempted suicide. this is a cry for help. Its pretty easy to kill yourself if you really want to do it.

Exactly. Not to mention the hesitation stabs. If he really wanted to do it he wouldn't have hesitated.

Wow. STabbing yourself to death. That is some super dark and painful stuff to deal with.

What dark, dark place would he have been in to get to that. Sleeping pills, wrist slitting are all bad but the ANGER he must have felt toward himself must have been extreme.

Unreal.
