I know this isn't a PGA forum, but how about Tom Watson at The (British) Open?? Like Mark Martin in NASCAR, Watson's weekend is one for "our generation". I know that a couple weeks ago, Choc said he'd rather sort socks or clean the lint out of his dryer than watch golf, but I'm going to make today's round the first thing I DVR on my new player.

That would be great to see. I was surprised when I saw that he was in contention going into the weekend let-a-lone leading going into the last day. I hope that he can hold everyone off.

That would be incredible if Tom Watson could win a major at 59!
I'm hoping he does, although he's lost the lead. He's in a tie at the moment.

I'm sure if Dale Earnhardt Sr was still alive, he'd be winning races & contending for championships even at age 58

Not only am I a race fan but I absolutely LOVE golf. And it's great to see others here who do too.

The Golf Channel is the channel I keep the TV on (when I get control of the remote :p )

And yes it's awesome to see the older guys playing great. That's just ONE of the great things about the game of golf is that a person can play it almost they're entire life. Just recently me, my stepson, and my father-in-law, who's 81, played. That "old man" was KILLER with a 5 iron.

It kinda felt like I was watching Tin Cup at the end of that one today! That putt on 18 resembled one of my fine attempts. LOL I was rooting for the old man.

I was watching the last five holes because I thought history would be made, after the 18th hole I knew it wouldn't happen. The majors have not been very uplifting this year

i just want to know why he felt like he had to kill it using a putter instead of just chipping it up there

He said it was because of some rough grass in front of the ball. I would have chipped but then again I'm no pro. :p

I think it was still a great story and weekend. He came in second which ain't no joke. I mean, Tiger didn't even make the cut.
