We're gonna get the new NW cars soon (their version of the COT). However, these cars are gonna be a little different than the cup cars, i.e. a little more downforce for example, etc.

How ironic would it be if ultimately the NW races become more exciting than the cup races? For example, Saturdays race at California was, by all accounts, a better race than Sunday's race. And those cars have a lot of downforce.

Just a thought......

The NW schedule would actually fit me better during most of the year. If it works out that those cars make for better racing then I will watch that.

Man, I'm SO glad Ford going with the mustang. "Fusion" just don't sound "mean" to me. :p

Canada Eh!
I have a feeling the new car will only further the gap between the cup guys racing in this series and the regulars. Since it's the cup teams / and teams with cup drivers that will be able to afford to make the switch. Or make it easier at least.

will be able to afford to make the switch

Yeah, that's a concern. I know some NW teams (like Jr's) have commented that they might as well be in cup because of the cost.

Uh....about that splitter.....uh.....

1. That things looks like it's WAY out front. Reckon that will get torn off?

2. Suppose any drivers will use that to try to flatten another drivers tires?

Not sure about this yet. I do like that there's no wing on the back. Other than that splitter the front looks alright...like a STOCK car.

edit: Wow, I've just gone to Fox, Yahoo, Jayski, and Nascar.com.....and there's nothing on the new car yet. I would have thought somebody would have a story up by now. Am I missing something?

The design looks great. The Camaro would look good like that, if Chevy would use it. The Challenger will look great, too.

I tried to watch the press conference, but it took too long to find it and my connections was too slow. I'm glad you posted the pic, db :)

I can see Uranus from here
It seems odd to me that this particular mustang has the blue oval on the hood, right above the mustang emblem in the grill. First mustang in a long time that i've seen with an actual blue oval on it.

Boy the government really dropped the ball on that one. :p

You know, I can almost excuse the splitter, because that is one amazing looking race car. It actually looks like it was designed by someone with some intellgence. Unlike the current COT which looks like it was designed by some lunatic from the local asylum.
