New model of SL2? (What is going on?)

I had to return a bricked SL2 today for a replacement SL2.

Before, if I wanted to listen through satellite, I HAD to use the antenna headphones.

Imagine my surprise when I got home and found out I could now listen through satellite mode while wearing regular, ordinary headphones.


AND...the headphone plug appears to be a tighter fit than my old SL2.



Did they make technical changes in the SL2? WTF is going on? It's not a bad thing, but I am

(Of course I lost saved recordings that I'll never be able to replace, but whatever...I probably wasn't going to listen to them anyway...)

Maybe your other one was just screwed up from the beginning! I had pretty good luck with reception on my SL2 even without the headphone/antenna in a non repeater area.

Awesome! I love it when I'm in areas that don't need the antenna headset (though I really don't mind the headset). Next time you turn on your SL2 go into Settings and see if your picking up a satellite or terrestrial feed. Purely out of curiosity.

You might also check you ZAP and OS numbers. If they updated the units they might have updated the ZAP and OS too.

Mine 100 doesn't work very good without the antenna headphones.

Wow, I have to use my antenna headphones on mine and I do have the lastest software. Is there any way to tell what version of the SC2 you now have and what version your older one was?

I think they changed manufacturers a while back. Perhaps this is just made by a different manufacturer who interpreted the specs slightly differently.

Online, it seems to have all the proper logos. It does say channel 81 is Cinemagic. I know there's a dog logo (NOT the full SIRIUS logo) for SiriusXM Stars Too.

In Satellite Mode, it has the Sirius logo for all the Jazz channels except 75 and 77 , ESPN Deportes, Escape, Deep Tracks, Boneyard, The Loft, 90's on 9, channels 208 and 210-220, 152, 155, 156, Laugh USA, 110, 140, 113, 117, 123, 127, 194.

The following is what I have blocked: All pop channels except for 9, 12, and Escape. 17, 22, 23, 26, 27, 32, all Dance/Electronic, all Hip-Hop/R&B, all Country, all Christian, all Classical, all Latin/World, 96-98, 102, 108, 109, 111, 92, 94, 95, 131, 134, 135, 137, 141, 145, 106, all Family/Health, 160, 138, 148, 150, 184, all BOXM except the NHL talk and PbP channels.
