The casino issue passed in Ohio last week. This paves the way for the first casinos in the state. All other past tries have failed for one reason or another (normally who will be running them). Two of the casinos will be operated by Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cavs. One of the casinos will be built within easy walking distance of the 'Q' arena.
He needs Lebron to stay. 20,000 folks in town, near his casino for a minimum of 45 nights a year. There are even a few rumours about him trying to buy the Indians (he tried to buy the Brewers in the past). If he can get the current owners (Dolans, who don't have the cash to compete with the big boys) to sell, he would own two major sports teams and a casino within view of each other.
Lebron is the key to keeping the attendance up and to get folks excited about spinning some slots after games.
