Yes, I'll still do the Slacker Spotlight, but I haven't had much time to mess with Slacker (or any internet radio) lately.

This'll just be a general thread for whatever song pops into my head.

Like this favorite from one of my favorite movies, The Breakfast Club (Yeah, does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?)

Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)

That song was actually written for Billy Idol. He never bothered to listen to the tape they sent him, so it was eventually sold to Simple Minds. Billy covered it later, and still plays it in concert sometimes. There was another so g that Billy never listened to that someone else ended up recording, but I can't remember what it was at the moment.

I distinctly remember hearing the Billy Idol version on the old XM when I had it, I didn't know about that one before then. The Idol version was good, but these guys knocked it out of the park!

They did great with it for sure. Once you hear Billy sing it, you can tell it was written for him. It was offered to the Fixx too.

The Fixx would have been interesting.

Today's selection is from an Alt-Country favorite from the late 90's/Early 2000's.

Old 97's - Timebomb

I will warn some of you, I have some pretty obscure tastes, so you'll be forgiven if you've never heard of some of these bands. Consider this your home for musical discovery. :D I also listen to pretty much everything except for a very short list of stuff. So you'll see quite the variety here.

A mellow Sunday morning, deserves a mellow song. Like this one from Donald Fagen. I.G.Y.

Today's song is a fairly recent one (2013) from the Arctic Monkeys (also from a pretty good album).

Do I Wanna Know.

A bonus song for today, since Living Colour's 'Vivid' album was released 26 years ago today. (Crap I'm old!)

Including this song, 'Cult of Personality.'
