Well, it's done. I'm now officially an officer in the US Army. I should have pics to post at some point of the swearing in ceremony. Getting my uniform tomorrow (which I will definitely be posting pics of). On the downside, military regulation now prohibits me from bashing any elected official. Farewell, Mrs. Palin. It was fun while it lasted.
PM me your comments and I'll post them for you. I always try to get Military people to talk shit about the current President. I only talk to Lt. Colonels or above (being that they are all at a War College studying) so they are more reluctant to do that.
Well done BMF  For some reason your post made me think of my father in law , who just suffered a stroke, giving my wife his Purple Heart from Iwo Jima. Best of luck, stay smart and safe BMF.
Congratulations sir! Enjoy yourself. I loved it while I was in, just got tired of going to Iraq so much. I doubt they will send you there though. Have fun and take care.
Soldiers with my MOS tend to WANT to get shipped to the middle east. Apparently you just sit on a base in Kuwait and collect combat pay. One captain told me he cleared close to $100k the last year he was there.
Yeah, I am sure your MOS wants to go over there. Too bad guys like me patrolled every day and didn't come close to coming home with that much cash. Guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.
No doubt. Being a lab jockey is about the ONLY MOS that's going to be itching for a middle east assignment. Even then, I think I'll pass.
