What driver do you use? I'm looking to get a "new" driver and am considering the Callaway Diablo or maybe the new Cobra.

My stepson got me a new Nike driver off ebay at the start of summer...it says "sweet sixteen" on the back which I'm guessing is the loft at 16. What ever it is it's too much loft for me now as I've improved.

I'm wanting to get something in the range of 10 degrees give or take a little. And I want a large impact area.

So what do you use and what would you suggest?

I have a 2 yr old nike sasquatch. Im pretty happy with it. 10 degree loft with a stiff shaft. It's huge though. Kinda like swingin a soccer ball on a stick.

I have the Callaway Diablo 10 degree regular flex and I don't like it too much. I never really use my driver because I slice every driver I have ever tried. I stick with my 3 wood.

I actually hit it right down the middle 8 out of 10 times. Usually go for around 200 yards. I get the yards IF I hit it just right...with that high loft I mentioned I have to compensate with how high I place the ball on the tee and where I put the ball in my stance.

I absolutely love the shaft on that Nike though...just the right amount of flex and feels great so maybe I should try a lower loft Nike.

What do you not like about the Diablo..other than that slice you have?

don't go to low on the face angle. even tiger has realized the advantage of some loft off the tee. he's gone up from 7.5 to 10-10.5.

go for around 11-14* but with a lower kick point shaft.

but nothing beats a good, unbiased (non oem/retail affiliated), club fitting.

That's it. The Diablo has the stiffest shaft of all of my drivers but it is still too flexible I think. I'm not sure why I slice with drivers and I don't with other clubs.

Yeah, I've learned that...because I picked up an older Taylormade that's an 8.5 (but 360cc).

I'm thinking 10.5 maybe 11. I really don't want to go higher.

I would love to do the fitting someday but that's out of my reach right now.
