I've only been car free for a year or so and I depend heavily on this bike for everything.

It gets a little old though pedaling uphill during half of my journey, the city I live in tilts pretty good up into a mountain. So, what to do? Well here's my new ride, a 2-stroke 80cc motorized beach cruiser.

It's fun as hell and surprisingly fast and sounds like a giant chainsaw.

I just wanted to share this with you.

Where do you plug in your satellite radio?

That's a good one. I just bought an electric lawnmower and started thinking if I've got power running to it anyway, maybe I need to mount some accessories. I'm thinking maybe a blender and a desk lamp for those days I procrastinate until the sun goes down...

Sweet! My only concern with bikes and scooters is the greasy smear I'd leave behind when the truck hit me. But I dig that bike. My brother made his own single speed fixed gear.

All it needs is a bigger engine, a heavier frame, larger tires, bigger brakes, larger gas tank, and a headlight. We'll call it the "motorized bicycle," or have our marketing department come up with an abbreviated name. Tough guys will buy them and ride them in packs all dressed in black, two abreast in one lane on the highway. Then, they'll park them in front of bars.

If we're lucky, they'll make a TV show about two California highway patrol officers who ride our invention and fight crime.

Pretty cool, what's your mpg?

The only downside is if you lived in my neighborhood it would be annoying to hear a chainsaw sound driving by all the time.

Well that is pretty darn cool, though not very feasible for many of us.

I wish something like this would work for more of us!

That's interesting. In PA, anything over 50cc you need a motorcycle license (class M). Did you need to upgrade your license or anything of that nature?

One summer in Tahoe we rented an eBike that has an electric assist motor. It was pretty cool, especially for getting the bike up to speed with the trailer on it for the kids. It was totally silent.
