Timmy nursing a bad lower back, he'll miss this start and he might go Friday against the Dodgers of Los Angeles. In Tim's place the Giants bring up their number one pitching prospect Madison Bumgarner.

I hope Mad can go 6 to 7 strong innings. He'll have the Padres and Adrian Gonzalez to deal with, but at least he's not going against the "bums" or the Rockies.

This is really exciting to SF Giants fans everywhere.

I don't think Madison Bumgarner would be eligible for the playoffs, would he?

PLAYOFFS????!!!!!!

But seriously....he would only be eligible if he were replace someone injured from the roster. Buster Posey was called up because Molina was taking himself out of the lineup last week. If Molina couldn't make it onto the playoff roster Posey could step in, likewise with Bumgarner if Lincecum's back is still bothering him in October.

Man, could your Reds help us out a little bit. You beat us two of three and you can't put one win down in Colorado. This is like 1993 when the Rockies couldn't beat Atlanta one time that year.

And in other news...Randy Johnson is scheduled to come back to the Bay Area to pitch out of the bull pen. More on this later....

Although the Padres have been pretty dangerous as spoilers lately, maybe they'll do something.
