Heard some real nice reviews on Youtube and was impressed with the video quality for a starter models. Driving around these parts is to say the least 'interesting' and I want to cover my ass in case somebody decides to get stupid.

The Mrs got hit on the freeway a few years ago. The guy started to follow her to the off ramp. She wasn’t going to pull over unless it was at a public location. After She was committed to taking the exit, the guy swerved back on to the highway and sped off. A dash cam would have been able to get the license plate and may have gotten a picture of his face.

Hit and runs suck.

Basically I’m getting one (and would suggest others do the same) for that very reason since the last accident before that roundabout collision our stories were very different.

I'm not all in on getting a dashcam yet but if/when this one drops in price I very well may pick it up. I watched a few Youtube reviews of it and people seem to like it.

I'm thinking of upgrading to Thinkware's 4K model. 1080p is okay, but more details are visible with 4K. And the rear camera is 2K which is still better.
