Bing's Basement-Premiere!

Bing’s Basement, a series of 12 monthly one-hour radio specials comprised of rare and unknown material from Bing Crosby’s extensive tape archive, as well as more familiar Crosby recordings, premieres July 4th on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The shows feature never-before-available music, as well as highlights and guests from Crosby’s long radio career – including his time as a disc jockey in the 1940s and 1950s. Radio personality Arne Fogel hosts the series, which kicks off with an Independence Day show. Encore Sat @ 3pm

Danny Kaye was born 100 years ago, and with his infamous red locks, charming personality, singing, acting, and comedic talents became a beloved American icon. His radio shows have been widely available to collectors, however the original tapes have been located and re-mastered for airing on SiriusXM. The shows features the music of the Harry James and His Music Makers Orchestra at the height of their popularity, with a cast of stage, screen and recording stars: Shirley Booth, Betty Hutton, Carmen Miranda, Orson Welles, Peter Lorre, The Andrew Sisters, and a young legend in the making, Danny Kaye! Encore Sat @ 6pm

I'll need to let my brother know. He listens to the 40's channel very often!
All Bing's previous shows were dropped by SXM on April 1st (no foolin') for some unknown reason. I'm sure his fans will be glad to have him back, but only 1 hour per month!

I was hearing that their was going to be a special announcement. Guess this must be it.
I didn't mind listening. I would catch a little of his show about 3-5 times a month. I think he said he was one of the first DJ's on XM.

But it's ok with me. 40's does very well just being an automated music channel. It's not like say losing Martha Quinn on 80's or Madison on Alt Nation.
