Building 20 at MIT:
It was a temporary wooden building that lasted for 55 years, housing the Rad Lab, Noam Chomsky, Tech Model Railroad Club, and a bunch of other interesting stuff. It was never the nicest place, so people felt free to modify it when they needed to. Architecturally, it was probably more successful than any other research building.
Baker House, Kresge Auditorium, and the Chapel are all pretty damned good buildings.

But they still exist .But not as successful as Building 20.

Haven't been to my home city in a while. I wonder if Donald's shiny new toy has tours like the Willis building. Speaking of the old Sears tower, the fiberglass floored addition went in on the 107th level a few years ago and must be a cool experience.
