SIRIUS XM Radio announced today that Archbishop Timothy Dolan and Rabbi Harlan J. Wechsler, who both host regular shows on SIRIUS XM, will co-host a live radio special airing on Sunday, December 20 (3:00-4:00 pm ET).
Archbishop Dolan, Archbishop of New York and host of the weekly show A Conversation with the Archbishop on The Catholic Channel, and Rabbi Wechsler, host of Rabbi Wechsler Teaches on the SIRIUS XM Stars channel, will join in an interfaith dialogue focusing on the Catholic and Jewish Holy Days and the importance of nurturing tradition in an increasingly secularized world. Archbishop Dolan and Rabbi Wechsler will also answer questions from both a live studio audience and callers around the country.
“We are honored to bring together Archbishop Dolan and Rabbi Wechsler for an insightful discussion that will appeal to people of many backgrounds,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SIRIUS XM Radio. “This thought-provoking and timely dialogue about tradition and faith demonstrates the unique power of radio.”
The program will be simulcast on both The Catholic Channel (SIRIUS channel 159 and XM channel 117) and SIRIUS XM Stars (SIRIUS channel 102 and XM channel 155).
Archbishop Dolan was named Archbishop of New York in April after previously serving as Archbishop of Milwaukee. He hosts A Conversation with the Archbishop every Thursday at 1:00 pm on The Catholic Channel. Produced by the Archdiocese of New York and SIRIUS XM Radio, The Catholic Channel is available to listeners nationwide 7 days a week/24 hours a day, and offers a daily lineup featuring contemporary talk shows and engaging hosts, plus daily Mass from Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.
Dr. Harlan J. Wechsler is the founding Rabbi of Congregation Or Zarua in New York City. A graduate of Harvard, he taught Jewish theology and ethics at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America for over thirty years. He is the author of What’s So Bad About Guilt? On Rabbi Wechsler Teaches, Rabbi Wechsler offers historical and modern Jewish perspective on a wide-range of issues and events, and welcomes special guests. The show airs Sundays on SIRIUS XM Stars, SIRIUS channel 102 and XM channel 155.
