The Academy Awards will be held tonight... Are you going to watch?

Hugh Jackman will be hosting. Seems like a curious choice, but I'm sure he'll do okay.

I watch the awards every year, even though I didn't see but a few movies this year.

Will you watch the 6 hour "Countdown to the Red Carpet" on E! :right:

That's six hours you'll never get back! Don't do it!
I'm sure Mrs Hectic will have the show on. I just don't want to miss Flight of the Conchords.

Hugh Jackman...I don't get that guy. Sounds like a porno star name, doesn't it? Hugh Jackman. Whatever.

I will not be watching. Wake Forest and Duke are on tonight!

I'll pop in every once in a while, and complain how predictable it is.

Wait what happened to Filix ?

How can they have a show just about Oscar?

Just a messy guy smoking gigars in his boxers?

How entertaining is that going to be after six hours?

I think that right wing radio(or the top 5 in "Talkers Magazine") and the fly over states will be freaking out tomorrow; it was almost all about the gays and Middle Easterners.

Awesome...

By the way...what the fuck was with the computer graphics? The image of that blueish panda was very disconcerting.

I also didn't care for the "In Memorial" segment. Brutally done.

I didn't watch it, but it's awesome that Heath Ledger got the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of The Joker.

I was mostly pleased with the Oscars. Slumdog was the big winner and Heath Ledger won for The Joker. However, I'm pissed that Sean Penn and not Mickey Rourke won Best Actor.

Personally, I thought Hugh Jackman was bland hosting the show.

I haven't really watched the Oscars in years. I realized a while ago that I just never seemed to see any of the movies that were nominated so I just stopped caring.

Plus, I just can't take all the fake excitement by the people that win and the bs. speeches they give.

I didn't see Slumdog MIllionaire but the chance that it is far better than The Dark Knight or Iron Man is hardly possible. I'm sure it is a deeper film but it can't be any more enjoyable.

The Academy still doesn't want any blockbusters to win because they look down on us little people and think we're all stupid so they continue to nominate and award artsy films that most people just don't care that much about. Some of these films are good, sure but they're usually no better than what the populace decides is a "blockbuster."

Vargas,;)
Kinda reminds me of when my kids say "whats the point in trying steak? Im happy with hot dogs." -'course nothing really beats a real Chicago dog!

I like how MTV awards counter the Oscars focus on film making, by awarding the popular blockbusters.

I agree with you and I know how I sound but considering that I don't get to that many movies per year anymore ( used to see ton's but now with kids it is hard for us to get out) so when I DO go to a movie, I'd rather go see a Dark Knight or an Underworld 3 than going to see The Reader.

The race sucked, so I watched the whole show...

And it was predictable, not that funny, political, and Heath Ledger wasn't shown in the "In Memorial" segment.

How could you tell? Half the time they were filming it from the side or from too far away to see who it was they were memorializing. I couldn't even read the names, and I was watching in HD.

Plus, when the hell did Wolverine become such a poofter??

Trust me, I saw every person, not every name, and Heath wasn't up there. There also would have been an uproar of applause.
