@IdRatherBeSkiing I can see how people like "Angel Of The Morning", but B & B would certainly make those faces at it! Personally, I don't like it much. I much prefer "Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me". And I've loved "Shaddup You Face" since I was 10 years old. A smash hit overseas, but not so much here.

@Aaron Yep! That's the one that started that medley craze.

Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny) as a tribute to John Lennon, who had been assassinated in December 1980 outside the Dakota apartment building in New York City. Jeff Porcaro of Toto played drums on the recording. The song begins: "What happened here? As the New York sunset disappeared, I found an empty garden among the flagstones there. Who lived here? He must have been a gardener who cared a lot, who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop. And now it all looks strange. It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain."

The "Garden" of the title is mainly a reference to all the flowers left at the site of Lennon's murder – but it also refers to Madison Square Garden, where, on November 28, 1974, "surprise guest" John Lennon joined Elton John on stage. It was Lennon's first live performance in two years and would turn out to be his last live performance ever. They sang three songs together: their current duet single Whatever Gets You Thru The Night (which, two weeks earlier, was the number-one single in the US), followed by Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and I Saw Her Standing There, which Lennon introduced by saying, "I’d like to thank Elton and the boys for having me on tonight. We tried to think of a number to finish off with so I can get out of here and be sick, and we thought we’d do a number of an old, estranged fiancé of mine, Paul. This is one I never sang. It's an old Beatle number."

Elton seldom sings Empty Garden in concert. Lennon was his friend and performing the song causes a lot of pain. Here is a performance from 1999:

Well, I gave IRBS plenty of time and he hasn't noted that Aldo Nova is Canadian, eh? Nova, whose real name is Aldo Caporuscio, is from Montréal and has co-written several songs for Céline Dion, including Des Mots Qui Sonnent, Dreamin' Of You and A New Day Has Come. Here is the video for Fantasy. What the heck is he wearing? And where did he get a guitar that shoots lasers?

Good 8
Okay 12
Bad 20

The top 6 all held their exact same position from the previous week. So did #9 and #10.

40. FRIENDS IN LOVE - DIONNE WARWICK & JOHNNY MATHIS

13. EMPTY GARDEN - ELTON JOHN

In my web player, this song was labeled as Madonna "La Isla Bonita"....?

1. EBONY AND IVORY - PAUL MCCARTNEY & STEVIE WONDER

I was torn between picking this song and Chicago "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" as my guess at this week's #1. I chose Chicago. I BLEW IT BIG TIME! "HTSIM" debuts at #75 next week, and peaks in September :/

I've gotten no report yet on what the other two people I compete with chose and how they placed.

#69 Sparks "I Predict"

I've already commented on how disturbing this video is. But now I'm learning "I Predict" is from the album titled Angst In My Pants.

#73 Sammy Hagar "Piece Of My Heart"

Yes, the Joplin song.

Won't reach the top 40
