Welcome @seasalt43 ! I lol'd at the two Beavis comments =)

I'm listening to "Act of War Part 1" right now. I'd never heard it before. Pretty interesting song. High energy!

The only Klymaxx song I knew back in the day was "I Miss You". Since then, I've been exposed to "Meeting In The Ladies Room" and "The Men All Pause", which both seem very bizarre to me. The "men-o-pause"?? And that dude in the Ladies Room video doing the robot dance moves... while sitting??

I wonder why Morris went solo and dropped The Time. He sounded a lot like Prince and Prince dropped The Revolution, maybe he was just continuing to copy Prince as closely as he could lol

Glad to have ya with us Seasalt.
5: PART-TIME LOVER - STEVIE WONDER
This one always tripped me out. Stevie didn’t seem like the cheating type.
Also, what good is it going to do to flash the lights?

One of my favorite ABC songs ever is "How to be a Millionaire", which did pretty good in the U.S. making it in to the top 20 on the Hot 100.
I've always liked the vibe of the song, and with the subject matter it's still true today.

The video was pretty cool too (all animation). I think I had to go to DailyMotion to find it.

The Beavis pic is quite effective at getting the point across. :)

Act of War peaked on the UK chat at #32. I probably saw the reference to the song on an old Top of the Pops episode.

Man Size Love by Klymaxx was a top 40 hit too, but it was peaked in the lower reaches of the 40. I remember Meeting In The Ladies Room and The Men All Pause, but I didn't see the videos until later on. The videos are quite strange and kids used to sing men-o-pause all the time!

I think there was a lot of tension and infighting in some of the Prince's protege groups. The Time reformed and made another album in 1990. I realized I had the cassette once I saw the cover. Jerk Out made the top 10. I didn't remember that song being that popular.

I chuckled!

This isn't his best word by far, in my opinion. Just in attempt to cash in on the pop landscape at that time.

Agreed. It’s catchy and has a hook like a boomerang, but he’s got MUCH better stuff.
I think all artists are guilty of that at some point in their career. One of my favorites, as most around here know, is Springsteen, but for every 5 Born to Run, Glory Days or Atlantic City he also wrote I'm Goin' Down which is not his best work, IMO anyway.
