SiriusXM's '40s Junction channel plays songs of the 1920s, the 1930s and the early 1950s. And, oh yeah, they also play songs of the 1940s. This list has 1,473 songs and is not complete -- so no fair complaining. Three Stooges fans will recognize Bi-I-Bi (also known as Swingin' The Alphabet), which the Stooges and several college students sang in the 1938 short Violent Is The Word For Curly.

Some fun trivia for all you trivia fans: The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down was written by Dave Franklin (music) and Cliff Friend (lyrics). An instrumental version of the tune was used as the theme song of Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes cartoons, which were re-released as Merrie Melodies and were Warners' attempts to duplicate the success of Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies.

Allan Jones (The Donkey Serenade) played opera singer Riccardo Barone in the Marx Brothers' 1935 film A Night At The Opera. Allan's son is singer Jack Jones, whose hits include Lady, Dear Heart, Call Me Irresponsible, Wives & Lovers, Lollipops & Roses and The Race Is On. Jack was born in 1938, the year The Donkey Serenade was a top-ten hit.
