Default Do you still subscribe to any print-based publications?

Printed newspapers and magazines seem to be dying off more and more...do you still subscribe to any?

The only thing I still subscribe to is Sports Illustrated.

I go to chron.com (Houston Chronicle) for my local news.

Same here. Subscriber since February 1990... Mike Tyson losing to Buster Douglas was on the cover.

My CAA membership sends me a monthly magazine. My cable company sends me one a month too. I read neither. I think my U alumni does too periodically.

I had a 3 month subscription to USA Today, but I used it for comedy writing purposes. They always seem to have a strange story from around the world that is great fodder for comedy. Other than that I still buy certain magazines mostly because I still like to read print and the advertisements as well. I guess I just like print ads better than pop-ups or side windows. I am thinking about getting a Kindle and if I do I'm sure I will subscribe to several different newspapers as well as books. Currently I subscribe to a bunch of RSS feeds and I use google reader and Viigo on my mobile device. I LOVE Viigo!! And blackberry users or Windows Mobile users out there should get this! Not sure if they have it for iPhones, but worth looking into. I also use a free stock ticker for up to the minute stock stuff. Its free for windows mobile and BB users.

I use the AP application on the Bberry for news local/nation. I did subscribe to The Economist, which was a great read, but I never had the time to sit down and read a whole magazine.

I have a stack of them here I have never touched. But it is cool to see the economists of our time and their thoughts, pre-recession

Popular Science I pay for and I'm currently getting Wired and a couple of photography magazines for free (my wife does surveys and gets magazine subscriptions for prizes). You've lost your goddamn mind if you think I'm buying a $300 gadget to read a $2 a month magazine.

(Although I will shell out a grand for a glorified porn viewer from Dell. )

And probably a few more that I can't remember at the moment. To be honest, most of them are freebie subs that I don't actually pay anything for. Usually hers are the ones that we end up paying for.

American Photographer is about all for me.

I get my local news paper online and get my Philadelphia Edition Metro online, as well (gotta stay true to my roots since I worked for them a few years ago).
