It seems like an odd way to frame the story. I'm a fan of ham & cheese sandwiches. If I run across the street to get a ham & cheese sandwich, would the headline say "Ham & Cheese Fan Killed By Car", or "Man Runs In Front Of Car, Killed"? It seems like the fan aspect is secondary to the not looking both ways aspect.

I disagree on this very serious matter. Normal people eat ham & cheese, but Twilight fans are weirdos. Like Trekk(-ers, -ies) and King Crimson fans. And she was at the Twilight convention after all, so I say the headline's legit.

Also, if you'd like to be going for a ham & cheese sandwich when I run you over one day, just let me know. We can arrange for you to be run down in front of your favorite deli. The headline will read "Brian Eno devotee flattened by Miata-hating, otherwise normal American male while going for pork and curdled milk sandwich at gay lunch counter."
