CBS Corp. has signed Arsenio Hall to host a syndicated late night talk show. It will air on Tribune owned stations in major markets including NY, LA and Chicago.

The show already has clearance in the top 10 markets and 17 of the top 20...mostly Fox, CW and MyTV affiliates...and will air at 10:00 or 11:00 PM.

Is there a market for a talk show hosted by a 56-year old guy trying to make a comeback on stations which generally aim to attract younger viewers??

True...but like or hate Leno, he had (and still has) a pretty long and successful track record at the helm of the Tonight Show...despite a bump or two in the road. As much as everyone looks back and adores Johnny Carson, he had some bumps along the way too.

Arsenio Hall has more or less done nothing for about 10+ years. I can appreciate him trying to get back into the mainstream with a run on Celebrity Apprentice and using the momentum from winning to get something going. I'm just not sure if this will work.
