Key words there is "speed limit". The sections of the Autobahn that have a speed limit aren't as high as 85mph, and the rest has NO speed limint.

With gas prices these days, you'd think people would treat it like gold.

Higher speeds, lower fuel mileage. Lower fuel mileage, the more you spend on gas. The more you spend on gas, the richer oil companies get.

BTW, I do 100 everyday in my truck

My new Focus has the mileage computer / display thing. Once I could see how much my mileage dropped by going fast, I started to slow down. My best mpg so far is 43.5. Nice!

Can't go more than a couple over the posted speed limit to get that high, but it's nice as hell. They advertise 40 max. That's pretty good for a gas engine.

Something previous in a Toyota Corella and Chrysler Sebring. My new Ford has a feature called "MyKey" where I programed it on the limit on how fast I can go. I set it to 80mph and the vehicle alerts me with a ding saying, "Reaching Top Speed".

I believe my new Escape has that feature, I'm somewhat starting to figure that out?
