I need a replacement phone for an 11 yr old. Both her and my wife are apparently incapable of checking pockets before doing laundry. Looking for something relatively cheap as this is the SECOND phone to be washed in the last 2 years. I don't have any contracts up till the winter so looking for something that I can turn on through Sprint.

Sprint store?

Or just get a TracFone.

Sprint store wants hundreds of $$ if you're not at a contract replacement. That's the scam. I'm wondering if there's places to get phones cheap (under $75) that can be turned on through sprint. I have 2 lines right now that I'm paying for through sprint that have no phones attached. I looked on craigslist but no luck.

TracFone, then. Screw Sprint.

Yea, I have a tracphone as well. But they're cheap and I hate paying $50/month for 2 sprint lines with no phones attached.

Local strip mall might have a place that buys and sells phones.

I have insurance (another $10/month) but that doesn't cover washing.

Warranty requires the phone to be brought back. Only covers "defects" or damage not involving water submersion. And yea, I checked craigslist but I can try ebay.
