At 12 weeks it has been formed (generally happens at 9 or 10 weeks), if it is a boy, but generally is not visible until 18-20.

The little f*cker was active as hell. While they had the big probe in my wife's vag, you could see this little thing flipping around, grabbing the umbilical cord and sucking it's thumb. Right now, my wife and I just call it "flipper". But, there was definitely "something" between those legs. Although I've read that both boys and girls have "something" there at around that age.

We called our son peanut because his first picture looked like a peanut. Its not surprising he plays soccer however.

congrats! you should check into doing a 3D ultrasound. We did one last weekend and it's really cool. We saw her moving around, yawning, stretching, etc... It's worth the money if the baby cooperates.

You'll have years and years of watching it yawn for free.
