I agree with the restaraunteer here. The dog should be banned.
If the dog is banned, then the dude is banned. He can't just leave the dog home when he's going to Don Julio's, and he isn't going to leave the dog in the lobby. The dog goes with him everywhere, so restaurants have to let the dog in. It's as simple as that.

What's the point of the dog? No, seriously, please answer.

Seizure alert dogs let their owners know a seizure is coming, sometimes as much as 30 minutes in advance. Seizure response dogs alert other people their owner is having a seizure and protect their owner from harm during a seizure.

You can find out more on the internet.

If this is the case, then I'll concede my point that the dog should have been banned.

If a seizure occurs, while in a public setting, people will already know. The addition of the dog is not needed to diagnose the condition. It's basically cutting out the middle man. A medical alert bracelet would do fine.

And if you don't concede your point, are you OK with saying the dude is banned from restaurants that don't allow service animals?

They might, or they might not. Seizures don't all look like someone flopping around on the floor foaming at the mouth. Part of why they have seizure response dogs is that bystanders can't tell a seizure is happening.

Why are you so opposed to seizure service dogs?

Yes, I'm perfectly fine with the guy being banned. Eff him! He has a god damn dog with him. Not everyone is a dog person nor should they be subjected to any dog related issues. It's not fair. Let's say a lady at the next table over has an abnormal fear of dogs and becomes hypertense? Ooops, too bad.

Why are you so for it?

I think the ADA Bill is a piece of shit that allows too many scum bags take FULL advantage of it.

I think a business owner should have every right to disallow a dog, cat, monkey, iguana, etc from his or her business. It's a private business and should have the discretion.

I don't like the Government dictating who can and cannot patronize my business.

There no Don Julio's here in Phoenix, so I don't need to worry about that restaurant. If the dog is well behaved, I could see it staying. But still, restaurants are for humans not pets. So I could agree not allowing the dog in the dinning area, unless it was a service dog, which those should be allowed. If the owner has a job, he or she can live the dog home everyday for several hours. Come on it not that hard to leave the dog home alone for couple of hours, while you eat out!

Compassion for other humans, I suppose, built on enlightened self interest. If I had a seizure disorder, I'd want the same kindness extended to me.

So you're cool with segregated movie theaters, swimming pools and the like? "Non-seizing Only" signs?
