I would wait and see , but I think with the debt that they have they might have no other choice , or Mel likes to stick it up the subscribers ass.

well i mean if u think about it.. the cost of everything went up i have been with sirius since 2004 and this is the first time we put our prices up, gas, oil food, clothing everything goes up at least 3 times a yr and we always stayed the same this is to help sirius pay off there debt so we dont go bankrupt this yr and if we do well poggie looks for one year off would be nice

If SiriusXM goes this route, they're going to see a lot of secondary cancellations.

+1 , and a risk of bankruptcy because those people will be pissed times ten. I bet right now Slacker is getting alot more internet listeners because of this.

Is this just for the Sirius side of things or will this new policy affect XM subscribers also? I don't know who's making these decisions lately but it seems like Sirius is trying hard to piss subscribers off.

I think so and I think Mel is waiting for his seat at the NAB Table.

The only reasons I can see them doing this are:

a) to avoid bankruptcy.

b) to piss off customers, lower the stock price even more, and sell out to someone.

c) to make up for dual subscribers. There are rumors that subscribers to both SIRIUS and XM will be able to soon have their second radio on a multi-plan, for (then) $6.99. Perhaps they're seeing more dual subscribers than they once thought, and don't want to lose the full $6, but instead only $4 per dual sub.

I understand the internet radio price of things...the CRC is full of dicks that are over charging EVERYONE to stream on the net. I already pay the $2.99 and will gladly continue to because I enjoy the 128k stream...as long as it stays $2.99 for 128k. The extra $2 pisses me off (if true...I've got an email into two people to learn more), but it's not the end of the world. I waste $2 on coffee everyday. 1 day without coffee wouldn't hurt me.
