But who knows at this point.
that's correct. the only reason why sirius carries the canadian & french canadian channels (bande-a-part, CBC 3, premiere plus, etc) is because of the Canadian Content law which requires companies broadcasting within canada to devote a portion of their programming to canadian-produced content. Since those channels satisfy Sirius' requirements, I highly doubt they'll drop it. If they did, Canada yanks their broadcast license.

Personally-and this is pure specualtion on my part, this is what I think is gonna happen..

-What we saw in the USA Today ad will be channels tied with both services...

-There will still be channels unique to each service :for example, for now, XM will have Chrome and Sirius will have the Strobe, Backspin will still be on Sirius, Xm will still have the CC channels

-In time, there will be further consolidation in the channels, in the ones which were not mentioned in the ad (such as Chrome/Strobe)

The best we all can do is wait and see... Wednesday will be here before we know it and many could be getting worked up and upset for no reason...

No word on Buzzsaw.

Octane is taking on Squizz's DJ Bohdi...is someone on Octane leaving?
I was surprised by this...Squizz is by far superior.

Hard Attack put out a message that nothing will really change...yet XMLM is on the list?

It is nice to see news leak...I guess we will see for sure next week what is up.

I Must have Buzzsaw, Lithium and Octane....

Well your speculation is as good as any I've done or anyone else. But if the name of the game is actually consolidation, then why on earth would you keep The Strobe and Chrome when they are basically the same music aren't they?

I think we are all hopeful that there will remain some unique channels. For example Disorder, Starlite, Moving EZ, but the more you read the more less likely it is looking. One thing about it in 24 hours we'll know the answer to all these questions.

There will be those of us happy and those of us I guess very miserable.

Sports schedules are frequently announced on the PbP channels whenever there's not an actual game.

Most radios also have categories for the various leagues, as well.

Same for me. It seems that such most of the stuff I like about Sirius is coming over to the XM side that it probably won't be worth it for me to keep the Sirius sub. I'd miss Movin' EZ and a couple of others, but certainly not nearly enough to justify the full cost of the sub (especially with the 4.95 covering everything else I'd listen to).

I still don't see any stations exclusive to each receiver. There'll be enough confusion tomorrow. I can only imagine the added frustration of saying, "yes it's the same company but you can only get these few stations on this particular receiver...".

Either the Strobe or Chrome should survive preferably The Strobe. I like Joe Cosi on there.
I believe I read the channel merging will be in 2 parts with that being said, SiriusXM could NOT be that stupid as to not include a Disco and Old Skool rap channel.

Want to bet? Look what they have done to urban music the past 6 years!! Sirius has done some good things with music genres, urban music has not been one of them, their track record speaks for itself, they haven't a clue!!
