Default MM's New HU

I decided that it was time to upgrade my JVC KD-AR960 Head Unit. I have had it for 5.5 years and it has been in three cars thus far.

I ended up staying with JVC, since I have had such great luck with them.

I got the JVC KD-A925BT.

JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Arsenal Single DIN CD Receiver - KD-A925BT \ Introduction

I ordered it from Crutchfield, even though it was a little cheaper at Amazon. I just enjoy the customer service at Crutchfield and if I have any issues, they will be helpful and prompt.

It took me no time installing it. I did take my time in preparation though. I actually soldered all the wires this time, hooked up the power for the SL2 by properly splicing. Before I used wire nuts because I was lazy.

This radio has some awesome features. It has 2 USB ports, one in front and the other in back. It has Bluetooth, too. I have it connected to the back USB port. It has an AUX in front. I used my adapter from the old JVC to add AUX in back for the SL2. It has a microphone for phone calls. I hooked this up and it's tucked in the hole under the radio for when it is needed. I might rewire that when it is warmer. It was 9 degrees out when I installed.

I haven't messed withe the EQ much yet, however, I found that the "natural" setting works for me.

I do have one gripe, ok, maybe two. First, you can't change the name of a setting like the old JVC. I can't change "EXT IN" to Sirius. Or AUX to something else. Then today I noticed that it is already off Crutchfield's website. It said discontinued yesterday. Oh well. I'm happy.

So, I have a good JVC KD-AR960 if anyone is interested.....

Enjoy it! I bought a new Kenwood HU when I got my new (used) car about 18 months ago. What a difference. Rock on!
