Hello everyone and happy new year. I have a very old Sirius Sportster 1 hooked up to the original boombox. I always keep the player in the eject mode to help with the cool down of the unit while it's playing.

My problem is that it's taking longer and longer for it to acquire signal. I get that message everytime I turn it on. Sometimes the signal takes up to 20 minutes...other times it take 5. The antenna is aimed correctly and I get a good aiming signal, so it can't be that.

Is this radio simply getting old?

Could be a plethora of things.

Might be as simple as replacing the antenna.
