Couldn't find any threads on this, but my Stiletto 2 started shutting down/rebooting without reason on Friday. when I try to reboot it, the lights around the wheel light up and the screen brightens, but there is nothing on it.

After a few issues finding a USB cable, I downloaded the recovery software. For some reason, at the end of the install, I get a weird error message and the software won't completely install. I also tried installing from the CD that came with this piece of junk, and get the same error message. I am running Windows 7, could it maybe be an issue with application permissions or something similar?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I guess that you are running Windows 7 in 64bit mode. The recovery software runs in 32bit mode. Maybe that's the problem?

Sirius does not like Windows 7 particularly in 64 bit mode.
