Not that I treat Howard STern's words as gospel, but really, what in the hell is taking so long. Exxon/Mobil merged in less than two months?

What is the big deal? Why does this take so long. At this point, either approve it or deny it but give us a decision.

It took almost exactly a year for that merger to get through the government, and it only happened after both companies agreed to sell off certain portions of their business to stay within the anti-trust legislation.

I'm hoping there's a decision, one way or the other, soon as well. I have to think the DOJ and FCC have their facts together and could make a decision any day now. It's almost as if they're holding out hoping one of the parties (Sirius or XM) withdraws their request. It's like someone doesn't want to be the bad guy, regardless of the decision.

But then again, I believe the Directv-Dish deal took about this long for a decision to be made as well. In fact, I believe that was a full-year later.
