Thumbs up StarLite is finally expanding

I listen to StarLite quite a bit and their message is always "no rap or hard stuff", but they just played Mariah Carey- Heartbreaker with Jay-Z rapping on the track and DJ Clue yelling all over it. I would never expect to hear a song like that on StarLite but it's a welcome change.

I agree, I think the playlists have been expanding all over Sirius. The Pulse has gotten way better as of late. And I agree with Starlite getting better, just the other day they played Prince "Diamonds and Pearls" which I hadn't heard in quite awhile on Sirius at all.

I do like their Starlite Exclusives though, I think that's pretty cool.

There is a new programming director for Starlite so this is probably the reason for the change.

whoever it is must be a huge Mariah Carey fan. Over the last day, i've heard 7 different tracks by her just on StarLite but my favorite track by her which use to be on StarLite all the time, hasn't been played at all.

I just heard Starlite just now. I thought it was better before but it's bumped up now to even more better.

I turned on Starlite last night and ilovelucy you'll never guess who was on, Mariah Carey. Then it was followed by some rather up beat song but I forget what it was. I'm glad they're expanding they're playlists but I hope they don't forget that Starlite is supposed to be "lite".

Yes, I can certainly verify the expanded playlist. Maybe they are listening finally. Gosh, I've bitched enough about this. LOL

Really? I don't listen to The Pulse all that much but it seems like if I ever catch anything that's from the ninties, that one comes up a few times.

It definitely plays a lot of songs from the '90s, most complaints are from the fact that it's not strictly 90's. For another insight read DAB's post here.

I still stand by my statement that it seems that playlists are expanding all over Sirius. Although last night it seemed like Starlite was playing some harder edged music than I would have thought it should. Like Real McKoy "Another Night", that I feel should be on the Pulse, not Starlight.

seems like the new program director dumped 95% of the old songs. I just heard TLC- Baby Baby Baby on Starlite...odd

I like it, that classic soft AC BS gets old after awhile. Its still light and moderatly upbeat but not to much. I hope the program guy adds more current stuff that Celine Dion crap do you know your in love songs gets old and stale very fast.

As much as I've ripped Sirius for some of their recent decisions, I like what they have done to Starlite. Some decent variety and hipper lite type of music. Pretty cool stuff.

I haven't listened to starlite for a while now because I found the format to get a bit boring with me. From reading this topic I may just have to go and check it out for myself and hear the improvments made to the channel later today. Sounds like they made some good changes. I have also heard some other stations beefing up their playlists lately as well. The big 80's being one of them. It's good to see sirius doing this.
