Americas Meltdown: Lowest Common Denominator (ever read it?)

Its beyond Foo. You'll burn yourself out going against the grain.

Plate racing=bad racing? I agree, it is terrible racing in the traditional sense. I watched the drivers manipulate the air while running as tight as they do in turbulant air and thought that was interesting but now they just ram each other like roller derby.. oh well.. just another thing dumbed down. Is it entertaining? Sure, it can be entertaining, it is cheap entertainment like eye candy in a bad movie. Of course some people are more easily amused than others. Personally, I wasn't orgasmic seeing the cars hit 205 while being pushed like many of the callers are.... Big deal. A surprise? No. They basicly connect the cars so you have an 8 wheeled stretch limo with 800hp.

Hell, they could easily design a car to go 400mph around Dega and probably for less than $100,000. Just think inverted hovercraft sucked to the racetrack powered by a 4000hp turbine and on a solid rubber tire. There really isn't any suprise in motorsport these days in terms of technology or speed, including F1 or Top Fuel.

Some fights can't be fought, the addiction runs too deep.

I enjoy Mr. Poole whether I agree with him or not. In fact I laugh my tail off.

Mr. Poole against the WORLD! That's what I like about him and people like that who have an opinion and stick with it because it's truly what they believe.

What I find interesting are the number of people who call OTHER shows to talk about or complain about Mr. Poole. I guess they don't want to talk to Mr. Poole himself. Personally I think their scared of him because he's so articulate and quick.

Some people get so fired up you'd think 'ole Poole said something about their Mama. Chill out and enjoy it.

I had yesterdays show recorded knowing it was going to be a barn burner and i only got the first hour. When that dude brought up claire lang i thought he was going to explode. It was so funny. Sadly I think a lot of people mis-interperet what David is complaining about including Moody who didnt have a clue what David was complaining about when he was doing his diatribe at the beginning of his show yesterday. Its not that David thinks the race was uncompetitve or the COT or the big wreck was any worse than normal. He hates this style of racing. I cant help but agree with him. 52 lead changes? So what. What exactly was the end result of everything that happened yesterday from lap 1 to lap 170. Unless there is a wreck, everything until the last 15 laps is pointless. Thats the word id use to describe the racing at Talladega. Its not boring, nor uncompetitve, just pointless.

What I like about David regardless if I agree or Disagree with him is he not only gives his opinion but also gives the reason and reasoning to that opinion. He just doesn't play pin the tail on the donkey like most people do. Most people just give an opinion with out any reason behind it. They just give a hollow opinion. Also, if you give him or the Bagman a good argument and facts to back it up they can be persuaded to change their opinion.

Some drivers would call it existing. Didn't Earnhardt once say that racing on plate tracks isn't racing, its just existing. He just happened to be better at it than everyone else.

Plate track racing it isn't racing in the traditional sense, imo. Its almost a different form of motorsport like drifting, rally, monster trucks, ect. They are all forms of racing, just different forms. The WWE may be entertaining to millions but to someone who wrestles for real might see it as an embarrassment to their sport of wrestling.

"I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast at Charlotte, we're going too fast here,"' Earnhardt said Friday during a spirited interview in his trailer. "If you're not a race car driver and not a racer, stay home. Get out of the race car if you've got feathers on your legs or butt."

One of the classic Earnhardt quotes
