I have just released the Alpha v 0.0.7 of StarPlayr for Windows for Public Alpha.

Currently XM support is unavailable while I complete the XM server side service coding.

StarPlayr for Windows will automatically notify you of updates as they become available.

IM will be quicker and easier.

One thing to try is to make sure you have .NET framework 2.0 installed... and if so, install framework 3.5.

I may have simply missed a dependancy in the package.

Well that worked like a charm! I really like it thus far.

I particularly love the album art, that is darn sweet!

Good Job! I'll let you know if I find any other bugs or issues.

You guys going to have a version of this for the iPhone/iPod Touch? This is one application I will surely be glad to purchase when made available.

I'm glad you guys like it. There are more features coming as well such as song alert and a choice of purchase venues in addition to iTunes such as amazon.

The Good: The load time for each channel is faster then any other software I have personally used with zero buffering time. I like the channel logo's in the Preset section. The Lyrics feature is neat too.

The Bad: No album art work is being loaded on my computer - Vista Ultimate SP1.

Overall: I think you did an excellent job and for an alpha release this is pretty impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product. Any chance you could work on a Vista Sidebar Gadget for your next project?!

I will tweak the album art search algorithms... the current source is only about 50% successful at retrieving artwork.

I'll fix that up today and push a server update up. You won't need to do anything as it is all server side.

I have a ton of features coming... a lot I can't discuss yet... but one I can is song alert.

You will be able to tag favorite songs, and it will tell you when and what channel they are on so you can click to tune.

A second feature would be auto-favorite tune. Once your current song finishes, it will look for one of your favs and tune there when one plays.

I've been using it for several hours now with no issues. This much more enjoyable than the SIRIUS provided player. I look forward to the new features.

I too found the album art to be hit and miss, but it sounds like with a tweak you will be able to improve that.

Tagging favorite songs will certainly be a nice add on.

During the day I use my iPod Touch as my PDA, taking notes, keeping up with appointments, exchanging email and of course listening to music. I can hardly wait for you guys to push out the iPhone/iPod Touch version. Is there any kind of ETA for that? I assume we'll have to download and/or purchase it from the Apple iTunes Application Store.

Don't want to get off topic for your find Windows version, but I think there are a lot of us interested in the iPhone/iPod Touch version.

Been using it a few hours today. It makes me wish I had the high quality streaming for internet radio. Aside from the quality of sound, which isn't your problem at all, it's been working great. But is it just me or does it not show whats playing on the other stations when you pull up the channel list? That would be a nice little add. The album art is a great idea and works most of the time for me. As mentioned, you'll be working on this on your end, which is great.

WHen I first went to install it, the install froze during hte .net 3.5 install or whatever. I cancelled the install and re-ran it, and it jumped right to installing the app, so I don't know what the issue was, but worked fine after that.
